Booking FAQs
Everything you need to know about rates, minimums, availability, and what to expect when you book studio time at Blackbird.
Yes. A deposit is required for all unestablished clients.
As soon as possible. Availability can change often, so please call or email to check open dates.
Studio rates are fixed and set by the studio.
All studio, engineer, and assistant bookings have a four-hour minimum.
Yes. Please let us know as far in advance as possible. You may send input lists and gear requests ahead of time. Sessions are typically set up the day or night before.
Possible additional costs include:
• Session musicians
• Producer, engineer, assistant engineer, and technical staff
• Videographers and photographers
• Musician and engineer cartage
• Piano tuning
• Backline rentals
• Any incidentals or extras beyond the room rates

Full 12-hour day bookings include access to the backline inventory.
Backline inventory includes:
• One full drum kit with three snares
• Two guitars and two amplifiers
• Two synths or keyboards
Nashville has well-supplied vendors for additional gear rentals if needed. Clients are responsible for ordering and paying for gear from outside vendors. Please inform the studio of any outside gear orders and delivery times so we can plan accordingly.
Piano tuning can be scheduled with advance notice. We can also help connect you with guitar, drum, and other instrument technicians.
Cancellations:
• For on-hold or confirmed bookings canceled within 14 days or less of the first booked date, a 50 percent studio rate and personnel charge will be invoiced.
• For cancellations of on-hold or confirmed bookings made 72 hours or less before the first scheduled date or time, a 100 percent studio rate and personnel charge will be billed.
• Any cancellation fee may be applied as a deposit toward a make-up booking if the rescheduled dates are within 30 days of the originally booked date.
